The Logistic and Distribution Manager is responsible for providing logistics capability within the Central and Western Region, to support market strategies, improved cylinder management, Product consolidation, Operations efficiencies and maximizing sales revenue by ensuring timely delivery of the service offers at lowest cost to serve while meeting Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements.
Ensure transport management and scheduling efficiencies are maximized.
— Cryospeed, Sureserve, Bulk, Interbranch cylinder and GMA Route Truck
— Develop and manage people (route sales & drivers) to deliver strategic transport objectives
— Responsible of production – Distribution interaction MRP-DRP
— Review and implement opportunities to improve and optimize resources.
— Ensure delivery to meet agreed targets in line with Product Service Offers
— Prepare and monitor budget of Distribution
— Optimizes the use of MRP at all branches, and coordinate its efficient use between plant and branch. Optimize order process.
— Coordinate activities that set and manage cylinder inventories properly at branches and plants. Implement plans that achieve these results
— Assist in the Coordination of Continuous improvement initiatives related to cylinder management on a regional basis
— Assist the Eastern Regional Operations Manager in Projects as required
Management degree or diploma or equivalent experience
— 5-10 years relevant experience in Transportation & Distribution
— Experience in Transport management and scheduling
— Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
— CPIM Designation is an Asset
— Excellent knowledge of Transportation Laws (Canada & USA)
— Sales & Customer Service effectiveness
— Effective written & oral communication skills
— Understanding of relevant company Policies, Management Systems and processes
— Knowledge of safety processes and sage handling of gases
— Knowledge and understanding of relevant Safety, Health & Environmental legislation and standards including but not limited to Occupational Health and TDG regulations
